Meet the Director

Hannah Jade McGaugh

Hannah has been training in various dance styles for over 30 years. She studied under Cydni Hutson in Homer, Louisiana for 15 years and was also a soloist in the Twin City Ballet Company. During her time at Cydni's School of Dance she won several regional scholarships including NYCDA Outstanding Dancer, NUVO BreakOut Artist, JUMP VIP Runner-up, and LADF Dance with the Force. She went on to NYCDA nationals in New York City, where she was one of the top 5 soloists. Hannah traveled around the country dancing at various workshops training with choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, Tabitha and Napoleon, Joe Lanteri, Laurieann Gibson, Mandy Moore, and Travis Wall. While in the Twin City Ballet Company, she danced the part of Clara in The Nutcracker and performed at the National Ballet Festival in Pittsburgh.

Hannah’s dream was to dance. Immediately after high school graduation, she traveled to Los Angeles, CA to compete for a year long scholarship with Edge Performing Arts Center. Candidates from all over the globe competed for 20 spots. As one of those 20, Hannah was instantly part of the fast-paced dance culture on the west coast. At Edge, she learned the business of dance from the inside out - everything from casting calls to how to stand out in the industry. She trained with elite choreographers in the city. A few include Mandy Moore from SYTYCD, Helene Phillips, Michael Rooney, Marguerite Derricks, Terri Best, Adam Parson, Kennis Marquis, and Kevin Maher. She was offered a contract with Go2Talent Agency and started working as a professional dancer. She has danced in music videos, TV pilots, and many live stage shows. She toured through Mexico on the Il Circo tour, danced behind Peaches at the Orpheum Theatre, and worked with choreographers such as Dave Scott and Tyce Diorio, who can be seen on SYTYCD.

Hannah always felt led to teach, passing on her passion for technique and presentation and her love of dance. That passion, and her desire to raise her children near family, brought her back to South Arkansas. In 2014, Hannah opened Lucy’s Ladies Dance Studio in El Dorado.

Her outreach extends beyond her own studio, as she was the choreographer for the South Arkansas Arts Center productions of Singin' in the Rain in 2018, Mamma Mia in 2022, Newsies in 2023, Mary Poppins in 2024, and Legally Blonde in 2026.

When Hannah is not in the dance studio, she and her husband, Jeremy, love to travel. Together, they are raising their four boys, Drake (17) Cooper (14)Wade Wesley (9) & Kane Hunter 7).
